Today is my first day in mummy's ward and i tell youuuuuuuu, the ward is freeeeeeeezing cold!! Its already raining outside and guess what each and every room's temperature at? 15 degrees! And obviously they wont feel cold, 'cause they've got tons and tons of blanket/fats to cover them. -_-'Patients are okay, Ward Sister is encouraging&awesome, PCA friendly&approachable, Nurse A not bad lah, Nurse B _|_. Looks like I'm already writing appraisal on the nurses and reminds me of B's appraisal on his sergeant. Hahah. Oh, talking about mine. Dont get me started.... And that's the reason why Im making time to blog on attachment days. I was assigned to mummy's ward with the bimbo and Kelly&Shikin assigned to the nursery. Me, being the sway one, assigned to the 'team' where that Nurse everyone warned about. Okay.. So we kindda stayed away from her and we did our own stuff. FYI, what we did was taking vital signs, answering call bells, the standars year 1s would do. That is better than not doing anything right? Anyways, right after break, this Nurse B started questioning us if we took out an i/v plug. We answered her nicely and replied a no. The way she asked us, was more like integorating(sp?) us. Anyways, cut it short. She didnt seem to believe us and since she knew we couldnt be bothered with her, she questioned the PCA and made this comment. Nurse B: Anyways, you dont see Student Nurses helping you take out the drip right? They just stand there and never do hands on. She practically made that comment right in front of us. Fineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Since it was only our first and thank god tmr will be our last day with her, we tolerated that. Just wait for the feedback form ol' hag. I just dont understand, why do they have this thinking that student nurses are nothing but burden? They were once students too right? Doesn't mean you came across this one fucked up student nurse, not doing his/her job, you categorized us under the same "hopeless&cannot make it students". Were you even there the whole day to watch that WE actually did out job? And our job is to what, help you push that fucking medication trolley and pour medication? And once we helped you, there isn't any "Thank you" or "please" when asking for a favour? You dont even deserve the post youre holding on right now, okay. Do I give a flying fuck if you have thousand years of experience, yet you've got this selfish attitude and not willing to share your knowledge with us? Doesn't mean you have a higher post among the rest, you have the right to stereotype people and point fingers. Saying, it couldnt be YOUR nurses. Tsk. Just because youre a senior, we have to respect you and be scared of you. If you want respect, youve gotta earn it, senior citizen. We're not the type of person who would bootlick and stoop down to that level. They are encouraging us to take up nursing, to be in an healthcare line, yet ... people like you, not giving a least support/motivation/encouragement to the younger generation? Being a nurse, is not about just caring for patients, not just being doctor's slave. but to be a leader, a leader who is willing to guide the juniors with patience and willing to share their knowledge. If youre already stereotyping/categoring student nurses, are you going to do the same to the patients? Just because they have this particular disease, or their skin colour, youre not gonna nurse them? That already, shows alot about what kind of nurse are you. Enough about that. The more i think about it, the more wrinkles imma get. Haha. Now, let me share a small inside joke(: *blop* Jemaine: Yeay! Mine come out alreadyyyy!! Me: AHHH! JEMAINE!! NOW MINE CANNOT COME OUTTTTTTTTT!! fyi, this happen in the toilet(: |
